The Gerontological Center in Valjevo, built in 2023, integrates accommodation and care for adults and elderly individuals with a day center for social welfare service users, including open spaces for their use. The complex consists of four buildings covering an area of 10,000 m2.
The Smart Home™ system has been successfully implemented in the Gerontological Center in Valjevo. In the residents' rooms, the system efficiently manages heating, lighting, flood detection, and window opening detection to achieve maximum energy efficiency, and it provides alarm notifications through an SOS button. In case of flood detection, the system automatically closes water valves to prevent further damage. For common areas such as corridors, staircases, offices, and similar spaces, lighting automation has been implemented using panels and motion sensors, ensuring optimal lighting usage based on user presence.
BMS manages the heating system including the preparation of hot and cold water.
At the Health Center on Liman, we implemented the Schneider Electric system, specifically a central monitoring and control system.
The subsystems that were implemented include:
- Control of the central plant for preparing and distributing hot/cold water
- Lighting control in the hallways
- Management and monitoring of FanCoil units and air recuperators
- Control of exhaust fans.
The implementation of the BMS has enabled efficient energy use, leading to significant savings and reduced operational costs for the facility.
Hospital in Leskovac with the implementation of a Building Management System (BMS) that includes the following functionalities:
- Management of climate chambers and associated ionizers.
- Monitoring the status of fire dampers (PP dampers).
- Control of local exhaust fans.
- Management of VAV (Variable Air Volume) dampers.
- HVAC system control in rooms, including cooling coils and maintaining positive pressure.
- Maintaining positive pressure in operating rooms.
- Monitoring the status of HEPA filters.
- Management of the central plant for distribution of hot and cold water.
- Monitoring electrical power distribution.
- Lighting control in common areas and staircases.
- Elevator monitoring.
The implementation of the BMS enables efficient management of all these systems, contributing to improved energy efficiency and safety in the hospital environment.
The gerontological center "Oaza" is located in Novi Sad, near the Danube River and Štrand beach. The facility was built in 1973 and recently underwent renovation.
During the renovation, ION Solutions implemented the management of a heating substation that includes 5 boiler systems for preparing sanitary hot water and controlling legionella suppression processes.
The General Hospital in Požarevac has a total area of over 5,630m², surrounded by a large park and featuring three spacious parking areas.
A BMS system has been implemented in the hospital buildings, managing the exhaust systems, the thermal substation, and ten air handling units equipped with VAV dampers that maintain positive pressure in sterilization rooms and operating theaters.
The heating and cooling system in patient rooms and other areas is integrated into the BMS via the ModBus communication protocol.
In the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases in Sremska Kamenica, a PET Center (Positron Emission Tomography) has been opened. Due to the sophisticated equipment located in the PET Center, specific conditions were required, which ION Solutions enabled through the implementation of BMS.
The BMS in that space controls:
- 2 substations
- 2 chillers
- Cascade of gas boilers
- 8 air handling units
- Maintaining the desired temperature and humidity in the rooms
- Underfloor heating.
